Arsenal are expected to finalise further transfer activity in the coming days.
Andrea Berta has already secured the signatures of Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga with both players part of Mikel Arteta’s first pre-season training session.
Christian Norgaard is set to sign for Arsenal with an announcement on the midfielder imminent from the Gunners.
Whilst the main focus is on attacking areas where Arsenal have made ‘contact’ with Chelsea for Noni Madueke, one transfer is on hold for now.

Arsenal delaying Cristhian Mosquera transfer for now
Speaking on the latest episode of Give Me Sport transfer podcast ‘Market Madness’, journalist James Benge has given an update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.
Mosquera is keen to join Arsenal after rejecting a new contract offer from his current Spanish club but Benge has warned that this deal may take some patience.
Benge stated: “The back end of the pitch, there may be one more deal to be done with Cristhian Mosquera,
“he’s rejected a new contract offer, that one is sort of on ice at the moment, but it’s expected to progress during this summer.”
Arsenal also hold interest in Jorrel Hato as they look to bolster defensive options following Takehiro Tomiyasu’s contract termination.
Arsenal need to give Cristhian Mosquera time to settle in North London
It isn’t easy adapting to a new country and new culture, especially at just 20 years of age. The Premier League is a unique brand of football and players can sometimes take a while to get used to the pace and power.
Arsenal have bought defenders from La Liga in the past and they have struggled. The likes of Gabriel Paulista and Shkodran Mustafi never truly settled at the Emirates Stadium.
| Arsenal career stats | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Gabriel Paulista | 64 | 1 | 1 |
| Shkodran Mustafi | 151 | 9 | 4 |
Whilst priorities are obviously in other areas for the time being, the Gunners would still be wise to get this deal over the line as early as possible.
Mosquera needs time to adapt to his new teammates, Arteta’s style of play, but most importantly, life in a new setting at such a young age.
