Mikel Arteta has shed light on Arsenal’s January transfer plan ahead of the Gunners’ clash with Tottenham.
The Gunners were handed a significant blow as Gabriel Jesus sustained a serious knee injury against Manchester United.
There were concerns that Jesus had suffered an ACL injury, which looks to be the case as Arsenal wait on further tests.
Arteta is already short going forward, leaving the Arsenal manager incredibly low on attacking resources.

Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal transfer plan
The boss has been quizzed several times on what Arsenal plan to do on the transfer front this month.
Following Jesus’ injury, Arteta was asked the question again by the media, to which he gave a firm answer ahead of the upcoming North London Derby.
“My answer doesn’t change, my answer remains the same,” Arteta said in his pre-match press conference.
“We’re actively looking in the market to improve the squad, and that’s been since day one.
“We’d be naive not to do that because it’s an opportunity always to evolve the team, to improve the squad, and especially with the circumstances we have. So yes, we are looking and we are trying, and let’s see what we’re able to do.”
Arsenal fans were concerned about transfers following the attacking disaster against Manchester United, with Arteta relieving some worry with his latest remarks.
“We have to believe that we will bring in something that will make us better,” he said to round off his transfer stance.
Arsenal likely to look abroad for signings
Arteta admitted that he’s ‘very worried’ about Jesus in the wake of his injury against United.
Such is likely to prompt the Gunners to delve deeper into the transfer market however, as the manager stressed, options are limited.
It’s important to note that due to signing two Premier League loan players in the summer – Raheem Sterling and Neto – Arsenal cannot recruit a loan player from the English top-flight this season.
As a result, if a loan deal is the most feasible option, looking abroad is the only answer, putting pressure on the Gunners’ recruitment team to locate a worthy target.
