Arsenal are pushing for a potential deal to sign Christian Norgaard from Brentford this summer as an option to bolster the midfield ranks.
The Gunners need reinforcements in the central areas, as Thomas Partey looks set to leave as a free agent at the end of the month.
Arsenal’s bid for Christian Norgaard shows that Andrea Berta is in the market to land a midfielder to replace the Ghanaian international.
The Brentford star offers plenty of quality, but there is an intangible asset he brings, which solves a problem for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

Christian Norgaard adds leadership to Arsenal after recent transfer exits
Christian Norgaard is the Brentford captain, who could bring an element of leadership to the Arsenal squad with him.
The Danish midfielder has had the armband for two years at the G-Tech Community Stadium, leading them to some impressive Premier League finishes.
That will be a huge boost to Arsenal, who have an issue with leadership when it comes to recent exits.
The Arsenal retained list revealed that Jorginho and Kieran Tierney would leave the club, while Partey is set to leave the Gunners.
All three are experienced and have held leadership roles, something that is difficult to bring into the club through the transfer market.
Norgaard brings exactly that and could do so at a cut-price, while there isn’t an expectation for him to play regularly.

Thomas Frank hailed Christian Norgaard’s captaincy at Brentford
While Mikel Arteta and those above him are responsible for setting the standards, it is down to the players to hold those standards.
Norgaard is capable of doing just that, as outlined by Thomas Frank when he discussed a new contract earlier this year.
He told the Brentford website: “A big reason why we have done okay is our culture, and Nørgaard is a big driver of that, on and off the pitch.
“At a club, there will always be in transition of players in and out, but it’s also important to have some stability. He’s also performed very well, maybe this season is his best so far.”
That could be huge for Arsenal over the next few seasons, as they look to challenge for titles.
