Arsenal fans are excited to see what the next few days in the transfer window conjures up with three signings expected at the Emirates Stadium.

Viktor Gyokeres is set to sign for Arsenal with the final details of his transfer from Sporting Lisbon currently being resolved.

Noni Madueke is completing a medical and is set to complete his £52m deal from Chelsea on a five-year contract at the Gunners.

Cristhian Mosquera is also making his way to North London from Valencia but Andrea Berta’s smartest piece of business may have already happened. It is going under the radar.

Arsenal change transfer strategy with signing of Christian Norgaard

Arsenal raised a few eyebrows when they replaced a number of outgoing midfield options with the signing of Christian Norgaard this summer.

Fans are divided on Norgaard as he is yet to prove himself at the very top level but his acquisition could prove to be a masterstroke from the club.

The Gunners historically have always bought more experienced players from bigger clubs – Chelsea being the main source with the likes of Petr Cech and Willian.

The majority of those signings have been a disaster for Arsenal, therefore adding experience from a mid-table Premier League side shows a change in thinking from the club.

Norgaard will be desperate to make an impact in North London and sees the moves as his last chance at footballing stardom – Arsenal are in a no-lose situation.

They have an experienced player on their hands who has performed admirably in the league over the last couple of seasons and will give that extra 10% in an effort to prove himself to the supporters.

Christian Norgaard can be Mikel Arteta’s new Jorginho

Norgaard wants freedom at Arsenal after enjoying some attacking success at Brentford last season, but he will most likely be used in the same way as Jorginho was by Mikel Arteta.

Whenever Arsenal needed to gain control in midfield by having an extra man sitting deeper, Jorginho was the man called upon and Norgaard possesses very similar skills to the Italian.

Whether the new tactic of signing hungrier, experienced players pays off for the Gunners remains to be seen but in Norgaard they have filled a gap in their squad intelligently.

Now Arteta has to hope that the business done at the other end of the pitch is enough to finally get his side over the line in winning a major trophy.
