Former Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is set for another move in the summer transfer window which could land the Gunners some extra cash, Arsenal Insider understands.
The shot-stopper was a key part of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild at the Emirates Stadium, joining from Sheffield United in 2021.
Aaron Ramsdale quickly managed to usurp Bernd Leno as the number-one choice in between the sticks, forcing the latter into an exit of his own.
While Arsenal enjoyed a rise back to the top, the goalkeeper made some costly errors, eventually leading them back into the market.
David Raya signed on an initial loan in 2023 that was made permanent in 2024, making him the number one and relegating his teammate.
Ramsdale left Arsenal for Southampton in the summer of 2024, looking to help the side avoid relegation on their immediate return to the Premier League.
That, however, now looks unlikely and his future could now lie elsewhere as a result.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale set for Southampton transfer exit
Ramsdale’s move to Southampton came with the idea of playing under Russell Martin, who was big at playing out from the back.
The goalkeeper was a key component of that, having to be comfortable with the ball at his feet to feature under the manager.
However, mistakes across the team in playing that way eventually led to Martin leaving, with Ivan Juric taking charge.
In a topsy-turvy season, Ramsdale has made 18 Premier League appearances, conceding 41 goals and keeping just two clean sheets – while a broken finger kept him sidelined for a few matches.
With relegation seeming almost inevitable, it could cause the goalkeeper to move on just months after leaving Arsenal.
Speaking to Arsenal Insider, TBR Football’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey said: “Aaron Ramsdale left Arsenal for first-team football and that’s what he got at Southampton and he has stood out with some exceptional performances.
“But they are going down, and so Ramsdale is set to be on the market again – he wants to be part of the England squad going forward, but he can’t do that in the Championship and with the World Cup in America less than 18 months away, a summer move is coming.
“Southampton are not commenting on a talk of a release clause, but whether it exists or not – I think we see him move and it will be fascinating for Arsenal fans to see where he goes, they knew he was a very good keeper and he is proving that.”
While it will be fascinating to see where Ramsdale moves on to, there is also a financial incentive for Arsenal to want a deal.

Do Arsenal have sell-on clause for Aaron Ramsdale transfer?
Reports have stated that Arsenal do have a sell-on clause in the deal that saw Ramsdale leave to join Southampton last summer.
The exact amount the Gunners could receive from that is unknown, but it could mean another handy cash injection heading into the coming transfer window.
Plenty of teams have previously been linked, with the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle in the past still on the lookout for new goalkeepers.
Any deal could come as a boost to the hierarchy ahead of a summer window that will need some big fees spent on the key positions.
