Arsenal target Quinten Timber publicly fumes at Robin van Persie after Fabrizio Romano transfer update

Arsenal fans and transfer target Quinten Timber have something in common, as both aren’t overly fond of Robin van Persie right now.

It doesn’t take a lot to realise why Arsenal fans dislike Van Persie so much, as the former Gunner left to sign for Manchester United in a villainous transfer back in 2012.

A lot of time has passed since then, but the hostility remains, which is why transfer links to Quinten Timber, brother of Jurrien Timber, might be more backed than ever now.

Arsenal’s interest in Timber dates back to 2023 and hasn’t gone away, making the latest outrage in the Eredivisie all the more fascinating.

Before Feyenoord clashed with Sparta Rotterdam, Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Timber, noting that the long-term Arsenal target had been dropped out of the starting XI by his manager, Van Persie

Can you name the ONLY other brothers who have represented Arsenal?

Arsenal target Quinten Timber is furious with Robin van Persie

Tensions are rising as Timber is not going to sign a new contract at Feyenoord and will leave either this month or at the end of the season.

It now looks like a January exit is most likely, as after the defeat to Sparta, the Dutchman went public with his anger at his manager.

“I think it’s a shame what the coach said, that it happened this way. It’s happened a few times now that the coach doesn’t protect the player,” Timber informed ESPN about Van Persie.

In an incredible everything on the table interview, the 24-year-old didn’t hold back.

“You can have an opinion, but say it to my face. This was the limit,” Timber continued.

“Everyone at the club knows I give everything in the match, and I did that today. If I have to play at right back, I do it for my team. You can put any player in front of the camera, and they’ll say the same thing.

“It feels like a charade. It’s like I’m doing nothing. There’s a lot going on, a lot of emotion involved, including the fans who aren’t happy with me. That’s never fun.”

To say tensions are rising is an understatement, as it looks to be the end of the road for the Dutch international at Feyenoord, the club that he’s represented since 2022.

Timber would be the perfect target for Arsenal

To say that Arsenal should now push to sign Timber once again may seem reactionary, but the 24-year-old really would be the ideal profile for Andrea Berta to target.

Agree or disagree, Quinten Timber is exactly the player Arsenal need right now.

Here at Arsenal Insider, we think Timber would be the ideal target for Arsenal right now, being a central midfielder who could bridge the gap between the pairing of Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi and second-choice Christian Norgaard.

The Dutch midfielder has shown what a brilliant asset he can be in midfield, and, being so early into his career, now could be the perfect time for Arsenal to lure him to N5.

Timber is showing every sign of blossoming into a top central midfielder, but will Arsenal be the place that he further develops?
