Andrea Berta has one of the most important summer transfer windows in Arsenal’s recent history ahead of him.

Mikel Arteta has one last Premier League game to navigate before his attention will be drawn to working with Berta on improving his Arsenal squad.

A trophy is a must next season and attacking firepower and midfield craft will be on the summer shopping list.

So with that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.

Arsenal make Benjamin Sesko ‘contact’

Journalist Florian Plettenburg has claimed that Arsenal are now in direct talks with RB Leipzig over striker Benjamin Sesko.

Berta is claimed to have made ‘contact’ with Marcel Schafer, one of the directors at the German club in order to accelerate a deal.

Arteta has always been an admirer of the young striker and his release clause stands at £67m.

Arsenal not convinced by Rafael Leao

Rafael Leao has been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks as the club monitor a number of wingers from around Europe to provide Arteta with more pace and power in wide areas.

However, as per GiveMeSport, figures from inside the club are unconvinced by Leao believing the Portuguese international may not be the ‘right fit’.

Leao has scored eight goals in 34 appearances in Serie A for current side AC Milan this season but it seems the Gunners are prepared to pass on a move for him.

Viktor Gyokeres tells Arsenal to delay bid

Viktor Gyokeres is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football right now following his tremendous season at Sporting Lisbon.

The Swedish striker is preparing to face Benfica in the Portuguese cup final after having secured the league title last weekend.

However, Gyokeres has asked his agent to inform any interested clubs to delay making a bid for him until after the season has finished according to the Mirror.

Arsenal have other striking options they are considering but will not mind holding out for a further week if it means they get the right man.

Arsenal talks with Dean Huijsen suggest Jakub Kiwior’s departure

Arsenal were in ‘pole position’ to sign Dean Huijsen before the Bournemouth defender opted to sign for Real Madrid.

According to the Athletic, Huijsen was promised regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium if he decided to join and that now throws huge doubt over the future of Jakub Kiwior.

Arsenal’s interest in Huijsen suggests they want another defender this summer and the Gunners have also eyed Christhian Mosquera from Valencia.

Despite Kiwior’s impressive performances, his Arsenal exit seems likely as the club cannot guarantee him the regular minutes he wants and deserves.
