Arsenal transfer target Matheus Cunha reveals his latest transfer demands as Mikel Arteta plans next move

Arsenal’s quest to end their trophy drought next season will hinge on a successful summer transfer window.

Arsenal’s problem was clear to Andrea Berta during their Champions League semi-final defeat to PSG in that chances were being created but no striker was there to finish them off.

The likes of Mikel Merino and Kai Havertz have performed admirably in the role but now is the time to give Mikel Arteta exactly what he has been crying out for – a proper centre forward.

Arsenal are keen on Viktor Gyokeres but are also looking to bolster their attacking options further with a winger and another creative force. Matheus Cunha was linked in January and he has just dropped his latest transfer demands.

Matheus Cunha’s latest transfer demands amid Arsenal interest

According to talkSport’s Alex Crook, Wolves star Cunha wants to make a decision on his future before the end of the season.

Andrea Berta signed Cunha for Atletico Madrid in the past and is said to be keen on bringing the Brazilian to the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United appears to be Cunha’s preferred destination but Arsenal are not giving up in the race and have planned talks with his representatives.

Cunha has been in excellent form for Wolves this season, scoring 17 goals and producing six assists in his 33 appearances across all competitions.

Arsenal should forget Cunha and sign Morgan Rogers

Whilst there is no doubting Cunha’s talent, his temperament and attitude have been questioned during his time in the Premier League and Arsenal would be better off spending their money elsewhere.

Pep Guardiola likes Morgan Rogers and the Gunners would be better off targeting the versatile youngster from Aston Villa.

Berta also admires Rogers and there could be an opportunity for the club to bring the 22-year-old star to North London given Aston Villa’s troubles with PSR rules.

Arsenal have to go big in attacking areas this summer and Rogers would represent a player with a high ceiling but someone who can also deliver immediately on the big stage.
