Double transfer could leave Arteta in crisis as three Premier League clubs eye £30m Arsenal star

Three Premier League clubs have now entered the race to sign one Arsenal star, and his exit could leave Mikel Arteta in trouble.

Despite having already cashed in on Emile Smith Rowe, Arsenal still need to make further sales in this summer transfer window.

Eddie Nketiah is nearing a move to Marseille. There are also questions marks over the future of Reiss Nelson at Arsenal

On top of that, there is uncertainty surrounding Mikel Arteta’s goalkeeping contingent. The Gunners have already secured the permanent signing of David Raya, after his loan stint from Brentford last season.

Now, though, Karl Hein is close to leaving Arsenal on a temporary basis. There is also now increased interest in Aaron Ramsdale.

Aaron Ramsdale transfer interest could land Arsenal in trouble

If Hein is allowed to leave on loan, then Raya and Ramsdale will be the only two first team shot-stoppers left at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta almost certainly has to grant Hein’s wish, as the Estonian was likely convinced to sign a new contract this summer on the condition that he be allowed to go and get some experience of regular game time elsewhere.

Now, according to talkSPORT, Nottingham Forest, Southampton, and Wolves are all keen on signing Ramsdale.

The England star may well be desperate to leave Arsenal too, having lost his starting berth to Raya last season. The last thing he needs at this stage in his career is another campaign on the bench.

That situation wouldn’t help the Gunners’ either, as Ramsdale’s value would take a further hit, after Arsenal invested £30 million to secure his services from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021.

If a serious offer for Ramsdale comes in, and he pushes for an exit, then Arsenal will surely be forced into letting him go. By then, Hein may have already departed too, leaving Arteta with only Raya to call upon between the sticks.

Arsenal face goalkeeper transfer rush

This scenario would be precarious to say the least, and Arsenal would have to act fast to bring goalkeeping reinforcements into the club.

Earlier this summer, Arsenal were linked with several goalkeepers who could provide back up for Raya. Things have been quiet on that front for a while, but it appears that sporting direct Edu could soon be given a reason to accelerate this bit of business.
