Arsenal are running out of time to recruit in the January transfer window as Mikel Arteta eyes reinforcements.
Arteta has made his transfer stance clear as the days remaining in the January transfer window tick down.
Arsenal are lacking in attacking quite staggeringly, with only one senior forward named on the bench against Wolves.
While the Gunners are getting by to some degree without arrivals, such is not sustainable, however, an update on one transfer has emerged.

Fabrizio Romano issues Sverre Nypan to Arsenal transfer update
Arsenal have been linked to several forwards this window, which is a position fans will want to see addressed promptly.
Despite focus remaining on bolstering the front line, the most likely arrival could be in the form of a midfielder, as Arsenal’s interest in Sverre Nypan ramps up.
After it was reported that talks over Nypan’s future have been ‘advancing’, a fresh update has emerged regarding those eyeing the teenage midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano took to X to report a three-club race to sign Nypan, made up of Arsenal, Girona and Aston Villa.
The renowned transfer journalist stated that each club has ‘presented their project’ to the 18-year-old, who currently represents Rosenborg in Norway.
Nypan has been in England as his future continues to be mapped out, with Arsenal and Villa said to be the only two Premier League clubs in contact with the youngster, despite speculation.
Romano rounded off his update by stating that the decision is up to the player, sharing what the midfielder is doing to make the right choice.
“Arsenal, City Group (Girona with future move to Manchester City) and Aston Villa have all presented their project to Sverre Nypan.
“Decision up to the player who’s taking his time to visit club and pick the best option.”
Parallels between Nypan and Martin Odegaard
Most attacking midfielders from Norway will be compared to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard however when it comes to Nypan, there really are some strong comparables.
As a teenager, Odegaard contributed to 12 goals in his final campaign in his homeland before being picked up by Real Madrid.
| Player | Club | Apps | Goals | Assists |
| Martin Odegaard | Stromsgodset | 23 | 5 | 7 |
| Sverre Nypan | Rosenborg | 28 | 8 | 7 |
Nypan recorded 15 goal contributions in 2024 for Rosenborg, as the creative youngster looks to follow in his countryman’s footsteps.
It’s interesting as Odegaard is in contact with Nypan regarding a possible transfer to Arsenal, with it yet to be seen where the Norwegian desires the next chapter of his career to take place.
