The summer transfer window is into its final days, but Arsenal could still see plenty of business going on before it slams shut.

The Gunners have completed £250 million worth of deals so far, but the potential signing of Piero Hincapie could take that beyond the £300 million mark.

Outgoings are now required, though, as Arsenal have at least five senior players who are free to leave this summer.

Included in that list is Reiss Nelson, who doesn’t appear to be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the upcoming season.

Plenty of teams are seemingly eyeing up a swoop, but a former Arsenal star is trying to convince the winger to make the switch to his club instead.

Alex Iwobi has been messaging Reiss Nelson about returning to Fulham

Reiss Nelson is set to leave Arsenal this summer, but his destination is still currently unknown.

As it stands, Crystal Palace are eyeing up Nelson in a permanent deal that could be worth around £15 million.

However, Fulham also want Nelson, having had the Hale End academy star on loan last season, though it was cut short through injury.

As a decision is waiting to be made on the forward’s future, it seems as though some former teammates are trying to convince him of a move.

According to The Sun, Alex Iwobi has been texting Nelson to try and get him to return to Craven Cottage this summer.

The pair played together in the academy, before they reunited at Fulham last season.

The 25-year-old could join a growing core of former Arsenal players, which includes Iwobi, alongside Emile Smith Rowe and Bernd Leno.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners can strike a deal with Fulham, but it looks set to be one that will go down to the final few days.

Reiss Nelson’s combination with Alex Iwobi in his career

Over their career so far, including in the youth ranks, Nelson and Iwobi have played a total of 23 matches together.

Those 1,124 minutes spent on the pitch, and countless hours seemingly away from it, may well play a part in convincing the Arsenal star to make the move to Fulham.

While they have 13 wins of those 23 appearances together, they are yet to combine for a goal.

That’s something they could look to put right, should a deal be pushed through in the coming days.
