Arsenal are desperate for attacking options following Bukayo Saka’s injury and it seems that their pursuit of Nico Williams has hit a stumbling block.

Viktor Gyokeres has agreement to leave Sporting Lisbon in the summer
Arsenal have long been admirers of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres with Gyokeres labelled as ‘perfect’ for Arsenal.
As the hunt for a new sporting director goes on following Edu’s departure, which Fabrizio Romano believes could ruin ‘dream’ January transfer of the Swedish striker.
However, according to reports in Portugal, a January departure for Gyokeres will not be happening anyway and an agreement has been struck between the player and club to leave in the summer.
It is believed that Sporting would accept in the region of €70-€75m for their star striker, who has scored a remarkable 21 league goals already this season.
Arsenal must explore other attacking options in January
News that Gyokeres will not be available until the summer will come as yet another blow to Arsenal’s January plans, with Jamie Redknapp believing Arsenal are ‘toothless’ in attack.
Arsenal have targeted Alexander Isak but it seems that Newcastle are reluctant to let their star man leave in January. Juventus have offered Vlahovic however, Arteta is not sure whether the Serbian would adapt to Arsenal’s style of play.

As the transfer window ticks away and games come relentlessly, Arteta knows that he needs to find a solution to his side’s goalscoring woes. Matheus Cunha could still join Arsenal but he is close to a new contract with Wolves.
With targets slipping away, perhaps an internal solution may have to be the answer with a change of formation and a possibility to get Havertz and Jesus playing closer together.
Whatever Arteta decides to do, he knows that goals and creativity are going to be needed if the club are to end their long wait for silverware.
