Tottenham are close to agreeing terms with a player who was offered to Arsenal during the January 2025 transfer window.

Arsenal and Tottenham have crossed paths multiple times over the summer transfer window.

With regard to landing targets, it’s 2-0 to the Gunners, who took Eberechi Eze from Daniel Levy’s grasp, followed by luring Spurs target Piero Hincapie to the Emirates

Hincapie is set to be Arsenal’s only deadline day arrival; however, Spurs are still working to get deals over the line, with the latest being a player who was once linked to Mikel Arteta’s project.

Randal Kolo Muani linked with deadline-day move to Tottenham

When the Gunners were looking for a striker in the 2025 winter transfer window, Randal Kolo Muani was offered to Arsenal.

The Frenchman went on to sign for Juventus on a half-season loan, and now, the 26-year-old could be on his way to Tottenham.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Spurs have ‘almost agreed personal terms’ to sign the forward from Paris Saint-Germain on loan.

It’s an interesting situation for those in N5 to watch unfold, as Arsenal turned away from signing Muani because Arteta couldn’t guarantee the PSG outsider minutes.

“Why Arsenal didn’t attack the deal? Because they had the feeling they couldn’t offer a starting spot, a regular starting spot, to Randal Kolo Muani, similar to Mathys Tel,” Romano stated at the time.

Interestingly, Spurs went on to capture Mathys Tel too, a player Arsenal will be glad they swerved, having seen him score just three times for the Lilywhites.

Muani could now follow in Tel’s footsteps, with the opening there to complete a late move to N17.

Muani’s scoring record since being offered to Arsenal

Arsenal didn’t consider Muani to be starting XI quality, with Andrea Berta bridging the gap by signing Viktor Gyokeres this summer.

That being said, Muani has certainly proven a point since his January transfer to Juventus, where he scored 10 goals in 22 appearances for the Bianconeri.

Thomas Frank will hope that the Frenchman can do the same if he makes the move to Tottenham, but as Gyokeres and Arsenal know, success in the Premier League doesn’t come immediately.
