Arsenal are reaping the benefits of the talent that has come through the ranks at Hale End but, change is expected on deadline day.

The Gunners witnessed an academy masterclass against the champions during Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Manchester City.

Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri wrote themselves into Premier League history, as both Hale End graduates scored against Pep Guardiola’s side.

While Mikel Arteta is relishing the rise of the two super starlets, the Arsenal manager is at risk of losing grip of several fellow academy talents this winter.

Three Arsenal academy players linked to deadline day transfers

Already this year, Arsenal have lost a bright academy talent as Ayden Heaven joined Manchester United after making his senior debut under Arteta.

Now, The Athletic have predicted that a handful of other valued members in the academy could follow Heaven out of the door.

Fortunately, it’s most likely that those linked to exits will leave on loan, with Maldini Kacurri set to join Bromley to spend the remainder of the season in League Two.

The Athletic’s deadline day report has identified Ismeal Kabia and Jack Henry-Francis as two other players who could leave Hale End to embark on loan spells before the transfer window closes.

It’s also noted that Nathan Butler-Oyedeji could leave Arsenal permanently, with the Gunners said to be open to letting the forward depart.

Butler-Oyedeji has been linked to a transfer this season as Borussia Monchengladbach showed interest in the 22-year-old in 2024.

The Hale End forward has been in the news recently as Butler-Oyedeji made his senior Arsenal debut in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb.

Players in the academy need game time at senior level, which could pave the way to several exits before the transfer window closes.

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji’s Arsenal career

Arsenal have learned the hard way when it comes to selling budding talent prematurely, as seen when Mika Biereth scored a hat-trick for Monaco.

The Gunners sold Biereth for just £4m and are now watching the striker evolve in France, which might be a fear as Butler-Oyedeji’s time in North London appears to be coming to a close.

While the 22-year-old’s talent is clear given how prolific he’s been in the academy over the years, there’s little to suggest that the Hale End ace is ready to make a breakthrough at senior level.

Butler-Oyedeji is yet to score at senior level, failing to get off the mark during loan spells at Cheltenham Town and Accrington Stanley in League One.

Such could pave the way to his Arsenal exit, making the forward’s movements something to watch on deadline day.
