There could be a change in the goalkeeper department at Arsenal before Transfer Deadline Day draws to a close.
Whilst David Raya is now established as the first choice between the sticks at Arsenal, and joined the club on a permanent basis this summer, there are certainly question marks over Aaron Ramsdale’s future at the Emirates Stadium.
Ramsdale slipped down the pecking order in North London last season, following Raya’s arrival on loan from Brentford.
The England international was a fan-favourite in North London, and many were perplexed as to why Mikel Arteta felt the need to replace him. However, Raya has now won over Arsenal supporters, and has vindicated the manager’s faith in him.
Meanwhile, Ramsdale is having to content himself with a place on the bench. It would be understandable, therefore, if the 26-year-old were now eager to secure a move away from North London, as he has proven himself to be good enough to be a regular starter at Premier League level.
Wolves are keen to sign Ramsdale, and Arsenal are willing to let him go, as long as it is in a permanent sale, rather than a loan move.

Arsenal fans give verdict on likely Aaron Ramsdale sale
With Ramsdale looking likely to exit Arsenal, many fans of the club on X have begun discussing the decision to let him go.
One supporter said: “Ramsdale We all know he plays alot but he’s good….very good, I’m still pained we’re letting him go.”
Another stated: “No slander to Ramsdale because I love him but I think Raya will go on to be one of the best keepers in the world within 2-3yrs. Ramsdale is too good to be our number 2 and deserves to play. Golden Gloves Raya just does things Ramsdale can’t. Agreed though, both are TOP keepers.”
Another admitted: “I think the way Raya just jumps and picks the ball out the air from crosses etc is something Ramsdale could never do, I think I prefer Ramsdales character tho, the way we’d act with opposition fans etc but I do think Raya is a level above.”
In reference to the fact Arsenal want Joan Garcia to replace Ramsdale, one supporter added: “Personal terms agreed for Joan García, and he will become our second choice keeper if Ramsdale leaves. Big opportunity for Aaron to go somewhere where he will get much more playing time, which he deserves considering his quality. For his sake, I hope a move materializes!”
Arsenal close in on Joan Garcia to support David Raya
Arsenal have agreed a deal with Garcia, who has been lined up to become the new No. 2 shot-stopper, should Ramsdale leave.
However, Liverpool could hijack Arsenal’s Garcia deal, which would leave the Gunners in a difficult position should Ramsdale begin pushing for an exit in earnest.
