Eddie Nketiah close to Nottingham Forest move

Eddie Nketiah is looking ever more likely to bid farewell to the Emirates Stadium in this summer transfer window.

The Hale End academy graduate is clearly no longer an important figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans, and a switch to a club where he stands a real chance of establishing himself as a regular starter is exactly what he needs right now.

However, Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar is determined to drive a hard bargain. The Gunners have set a clear asking price, and whilst Nottingham Forest seem to be comfortable with Nketiah’s wage demands, they are yet to meet those of the North London club.

The Gunners want £30-35 million in exchange for the once-capped England international. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest could prioritise Santiago Gimenez instead.

Progress is being made on this deal, though, and you can read more about Nketiah’s potential switch to the City Ground here

Arsenal agree Charlie Patino sale

Charlie Patino was hot property not so long ago, and one of the most highly-rated talents in the Gunners’ academy system.

Arteta handed the midfielder his first team debut back in September 2021, and he marked that cameo off the bench with a maiden goal for the club.

Since then, though, loan stints with Blackpool and Swansea City in the Championship have failed to see the 20-year-old make great progress, and his chances of forcing his way into the first team picture at the Emirates Stadium have all but disappeared.

Journalist Ryan Taylor has now reported on X that Patino will join Spanish side Deportivo La Corona this summer for a fee of around £1 million.

The England under-21 international will join former Arsenal striker Lucas Perez in the second tier side’s squad, and you can read more about the deal here.

Arsenal icon Robert Pires gives verdict on Kai Havertz

In a wide-ranging conversation on The Obi One Podcast, Robert Pires has spoken about a number of issues concerning his former club.

The Arsenal legend had his say on Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger, and also shared his thoughts on Kai Havertz.

The Frenchman praised the former Chelsea man, saying: “He [Arteta] puts Havertz as a false number nine and look, he scored a lot of goals at the end of the season. The balance, it was an adjustment for Mikel Arteta.”

Pires then admitted that finding another goalscorer of the class of his former teammate Thierry Henry may well be beyond Arteta.
