A round-up of the latest Arsenal news including reaction to the departure of a young talent, the latest on the striker search and the unique record that two Gunners will break during the Euro 2024 final.
Arsenal goalkeepers bound for Euro 2024 final history
England sealed their fate as Euro 2024 finalists beating the Netherlands 2-1 thanks to boyhood Arsenal fan Ollie Watkins’ goal in the dying embers. It’s Spain who await Gareth’s Southgate side on Sunday, as four Arsenal players remain in the tournament with a pre-season trip to the States looming.
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, midfielder Declan Rice and attacker Bukayo Saka are all in the England squad, who will face David Raya’s Spain in Berlin.
As a club, the north Londoners have boasted many a World Cup winner, but fewer have won the European Championships whilst an active Arsenal player, with Cesc Fabregas the last to do so in 2008.

However, it’s the Arsenal goalkeepers who are set to make history during Sunday’s final. For the first time in football history, two goalkeepers from the same club squad will be on opposing teams in an international final. A feat that hasn’t been at the World Cup or Euros.
Despite being bench options, one of Raya or Ramsdale will also become the first Arsenal goalkeeper to ever win the European Championships.
German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann had come close in his final season at the club in 2008.

Arsenal fans react as former defender joins Luton Town
Many Arsenal supporters felt that letting Reuell Walters leave the club would be a costly mistake, seeing him as potentially a solid option as back-up for the first team squad.
Arsenal made efforts to convince Walters to pen a new deal this summer. However, the teenager decided not to take the board up on the deal, coming close but never making an appearance for the first team.
Luton Town have now sealed the signature of Walters. The England under-20 international will be relishing first taste of senior football in the Championship this season.
Even though it might be what is best for the defender’s future, many are still not entirely satisfied with what has happened and spoke their minds on X.
One angered supporter said: “Close the academy.”

Another bemoaned: “They will end up getting loads of money for him…”
One fan asked: “Somehow, we are letting go of all our young stars. Is this how we want to build a sustainable football club?”
It is a shame to see Walters’ Arsenal stint end like this, but he will remain the only Arsenal player to make six figures on Fortnite.

Arsenal’s three striker shortlist for potential summer moves
Activity in the transfer window is yet to gather pace. Riccardo Calafiori has been rumoured to be close with reports in Italy stating that a deal had been agreed, but the left-back remains a Bologna player.
The hunt for a striker remains a priority this summer, even though the form of Kai Havertz sets a high standard for what the club are looking for. Edu Gaspar and the board already tried to sign Benjamin Sesko, but the Slovenian instead opted to pen an extended contract with RB Leipzig
The latest from Caught Offside states, Arsenal will consider moves for Viktor Gyokeres, Ivan Toney, and Santiago Gimenez once negotiations with Bologna over the Calafiori deal are complete.
Arsenal have already been heavily linked with Gyokeres. The Swedish forward was in prolific form for Sporting last season, racking up 43 goals and 15 assists for the Portuguese outfit, but some have ‘one-season wonder’ reservations.
We all know what Ivan Toney can do given his Premier League exploits and Saka has even admitted to being in awe of his penalty technique. Feyenoord striker Gimenez has been something of a goal machine in the Dutch top flight and will be keen to take the next step.
