Arsenal are expecting more departures from the Emirates Stadium this summer after a recent mass exodus.

Arsenal’s retained list confirmed that twenty players left the club, including the likes of Kieran Tierney and Raheem Sterling.

Sterling thanked fans for their support upon his departure and Andrea Berta is now keen to sell a few more stars in order to balance the books ahead of potential attacking recruitment.

Nuno Tavares holds a sell-on clause after he was the first confirmed sale of the Berta era in a deal with Lazio and now there is Premier League interest in another of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Fulham interested in signing Reiss Nelson from Arsenal

According to the Athletic, Fulham boss Marco Silva is interested in bringing Reiss Nelson back to Craven Cottage on a permanent basis this summer.

Nelson made 13 appearances during a loan spell this season and impressed with two goals and an assist before hamstring surgery cruelly cut his season short.

The report stated: “Fulham and Marco Silva’s team are interested in bringing him back to Craven Cottage if an appropriate deal can be reached.”

Nelson was compared to Ronaldinho back in December when he tormented North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur with some outrageous skill and there has never been any doubt over his raw talent.

Arsenal are prepared to let Nelson leave but will want a fair transfer fee for a player that has been nurtured through the Hale End academy.

Reiss Nelson should leave Arsenal on a permanent deal this summer

Although Nelson’s dream would have been to force his way into Arteta’s team on a regular basis, now is the right time for the 25-year-old to make his next permanent career move.

Nelson faces stiff competition already for a place on the wing, up against the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli – that is without the Gunners’ interest in bringing in another world-class wide option.

Silva is a big fan of Nelson and if the right deal can be reached by both clubs, Fulham would represent an excellent club for the Arsenal man to develop and make his own mark on the game.

He would join the likes of Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe in joining the West London adventure and under an excellent coach such as Silva, Nelson would be a success at Craven Cottage.
