A round-up of the latest Arsenal news as the Gunners build ‘hope’ around Oleksandr Zinchenko’s injury and David Ornstein suggests four players at risk of transfers away.

Arsenal have ‘hope’ concerning Oleksandr Zinchenko’s calf injury

North London chiefs now ‘hope’ boss Mikel Arteta can get Zinchenko back from injury when Arsenal host Brentford on Saturday. That is according to football.london, which reports that the 27-year-old may make his first appearance since the Gunners beat Liverpool last month.

Zinchenko has sat out the Emirates Stadium outfit’s past four Premier League games having failed to overcome a calf injury. Arteta had to hook the Ukraine hero at half-time in their 3-1 win over the Reds. But the Bees’ visit across the capital this weekend may now give minutes.

Centre-half Jakub Kiwior has stood in for Zinchenko at left-back over his recent injury lay-off at Arsenal. But Arteta has started his No1 left-sided full-back in 17 of his 21 Premier League outings this term from 21 fixtures. Zinchenko has missed a total of six games through injury.

Arsenal icon Ian Wright shares why Ben White ‘makes me happy’

Highbury hero Ian Wright admits just seeing Ben White smile is enough to make the Arsenal legend happy. He lapsed up the right-back scoring in the Gunners’ 6-0 beating of Sheffield United on Monday. It was only White’s fourth goal for the club in 120 matches since joining.

The 26-year-old offered the only goal of the second half at Bramall Lane, as White smashed a shot home into the far corner in the 58th minute. He took aim with the defender’s weaker left foot to further take Arsenal to a Premier League-high 68 goals in 27 fixtures this season.

Now, Wright has praised White for scoring in Arsenal’s demolition of Sheffield United to stay two points behind leaders Liverpool. The Highbury hero has even picked the full-back’s goal as his favourite strike over Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz or Declan Rice’s.

“The goal I enjoyed most was Ben White’s,” he stated on his Wrighty’s House podcast. “Ben White’s, like, cavalier. Getting forward the way he gets forward.

“And it’s really strange because even just seeing Ben White’s smile makes me happy, because he just looks like such a serious, deep kind of dude.”

Arsenal could sell four stars to relieve PSR concerns this summer

David Ornstein has claimed on The Athletic’s podcast that Aaron Ramsdale is one of the four ‘obvious’ players Arsenal could sell this summer. The Gunners are likely to trim Arteta’s team to relieve their concerns regarding the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

Ramsdale is likely to attract suitors in the off-season after falling to second fiddle at Emirates Stadium. The 25-year-old should return to Arteta’s side against Brentford given David Raya’s ineligibility. But it will be his sixth top-flight match this season and second since September.

Additionally, Ornstein expects Arsenal to consider transfer approaches for Eddie Nketiah and fellow Hale End products Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson. Arsenal agreeing to sell either would count as pure profit for the north London natives’ 2024/25 FFP and PSR calculations.
