Arsenal fans don’t only have Andrea Berta to thank for hijacking Tottenham’s deal to sign Eberechi Eze.

Social media erupted on Wednesday night as it was revealed that Arsenal had derailed Spurs’ plans to sign Eze.

Berta wasted no time replenishing Mikel Arteta’s attack after it was announced that Kai Havertz had suffered a knee injury.

Eze isn’t a direct replacement for Havertz, but he will considerably improve Arsenal’s front line, leaving fans amazed by Berta’s proactive approach.

Declan Rice played a role in Arsenal signing Eberechi Eze

Everything is in place for Arsenal to sign Eze, who was extremely close to signing for Spurs.

As expected, Spurs fans are heartbroken by Eze’s decision, as the Lilywhites thought they were getting their dream James Maddison replacement.

Instead, the England international is on his way to the Emirates, something that one member of Arsenal’s squad played a significant role in.

It’s been revealed that Declan Rice was pestering Arteta for some time about why the Gunners should look at Eze.

Reliable Arsenal transfer insider Hand of Arsenal took to X to share that Rice ‘constantly gave glowing references’ about his international teammate to the Arsenal manager.

Upon making direct contact with Eze, Arteta was quickly won over, falling in love with the playmaker’s dream and commitment to deliver silverware with the club of his heart, Arsenal.

It’s well documented that Eze always preferred a move to Arsenal, but as the window developed, he was in a position to settle for Spurs.

In a dramatic turn of events, the 27-year-old will play his final game for Crystal Palace on Thursday night in the Europa Conference League, then undergo a medical on Friday at Arsenal before putting pen to paper.

Dream summer at Arsenal for Declan Rice

Eze will be Arsenal’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window, a period that is turning out to be a dream scenario for Rice.

The Englishman will be joined at the Emirates by several of his close friends amid forming new relationships with others.

Rice was ecstatic that Noni Madueke signed for Arsenal and has formed a friendship with Christian Norgaard.

As well as the two arrivals, Rice celebrated Martin Zubimendi’s switch to North London, with Eze being delivered the icing on the cake for the midfielder.

Like Rice, Arsenal fans are in dreamland by what Berta has handed Arteta in this window, showing a real statement of intent in his first summer as sporting director.
