The latest news, rumours, opinions and updates about legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger from Arsenal Insider. Wenger is the Gunners’ greatest-ever head coach and enjoyed a glittering 22-year tenure. He replaced Bruce Rioch in October 1996 and retired in May 2018.
Wenger oversaw his first game as the manager of Arsenal against Blackburn Rovers as a little-known Frenchman from the Japanese side Nagoya Grampus. Yet he left with three Premier League titles, seven FA Cup winners’ medals and 19-straight seasons in the Champions League.
No manager has even won the FA Cup more often than Wenger, who revolutionised football in England. His playing style and vast changes to the Gunners’ training methods changed the game. But one of his greatest Arsenal triumphs was overseeing the build of Emirates Stadium.
