Arsenal are preparing to travel to Southampton for the final game of the 2024-25 season.

Mikel Arteta’s side need just a point to secure second place in the Premier League and will want to finish the season in style against the already relegated Saints.

William Saliba will miss the match with a hamstring injury, whilst Jurrien Timber has undergone surgery on an ankle injury.

A busy summer is expected at the Emirates Stadium with Andrea Berta already sending shockwaves through Europe with his activity in the market.

Arsenal fans will be hoping attacking reinforcements come through the door but there are also expected to be plenty of departures, Arsenal Insider looks at who is set to play their last game for the club.

Five Arsenal stars set to play their last game for the club

Kieran Tierney

Kieran Tierney has been a magnificent servant to the Gunners and fans will be extremely sorry to see him leave this summer.

Tierney is expected to join Celtic at the end of his current contract after having made 143 appearances for Arsenal since arriving from Scotland in 2019.

His tenacious defending and ability to swing quality crosses from the left flank made him a fan favourite during his time and only injuries prevented him from further enhancing his reputation at the club.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

When Oleksandr Zinchenko arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2022, the Ukrainian international was a real level-raiser for the club having joined from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

However, Zinchenko slowly fell out of favour under Arteta during his spell in North London with his defensive frailties exposed too often for the manager’s liking.

Borussia Dortmund were interested in Zinchenko during the January window and despite his undoubted talent and creativity, he doesn’t fit in Arteta’s style or plans anymore – a departure is likely this summer.

Jorginho

There were a lot of raised eyebrows when Jorginho was signed back in January 2023 with fans claiming the club had not learned from past disasters such as Willian arriving from Chelsea.

However, the Italian international has been excellent for the Gunners and his experience and composure has been invaluable both on and off the pitch.

Jorginho will join Flamengo this summer in time for their FIFA World Club Cup campaign but there won’t be an Arsenal fan around who will not wish him all the best and thank him for his contribution.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling was signed on loan from Chelsea in the remaining hours of last summer’s transfer window and it is fair to say his Arsenal career never got going.

Fans have given scathing Sterling reviews all season and the England international has not registered a single Premier League goal this campaign.

The Gunners are expected to send Sterling back to his parent club at the end of his loan spell and the 30-year-old now faces an uncertain future.

Gabriel Martinelli

Perhaps the biggest surprise on the list of potential Arsenal stars playing their last game for the club but the sad reality is that is what is facing the Brazilian forward.

Cedric Soares compared Martinelli to Cristiano Ronaldo during his time in North London but the fact is Martinelli has lost that zip and spark that made him so feared.

Leandro Trossard’s contract extension means that Martinelli could be sold this summer in order to make way for new additions and help with the club’s compliance with PSR rules.

It would be devastating to lose such a talented player with still time to improve and progress but such is Arsenal’s need for instant success next season, the 23-year-old may be sacrificed this summer.
